Our business is a premier lacrosse retail store and training center dedicated to serving players of all ages and skill levels.We offer the latest lacrosse equipment, gear and accessories along with professional stringing services to ensure every player’s stick performs at its best.Our facility features a high quality turf training area designed for athletes to work on their skills, technique and position specific training in a supportive environment.More than just a store we are a community hub where players, parents and coaches come together to share their passion for the game, train with purpose and feel part of something bigger– because at our core, we’re all about growing the sport and the players who love it!
Our customers are lacrosse players, parents, and coaches who are passionate about the game and looking for top quality gear, expert guidance, and a place to train and connect. We serve athletes of all ages – from youth beginners learning the fundamentals to high school and college players striving to elevate their performance. By combining a fully stocked retail store with a professional training center, we provide a one stop destination where players can get the tools, skills, and support they need to succeed on the field.
Trainers
HUNTER MCCARTHY
HM Lacrosse Development is led by Hunter McCarty, a collegiate lacrosse coach at Lawrence Tech University and former multi-year team captain and All-American player. Hunter trains athletes across Michigan with a focus on fundamentals, confidence, and long-term player development.
Services include:
• High-tempo offensive and defensive skill training
• Women’s lacrosse sessions focused on movement, fundamentals, and IQ
• Position-specific small groups for attackers, midfielders, and defenders.
• College-style drills and concepts to prepare players for the next level
• Seasonal training groups for off-season improvement
Every session emphasizes hard work, detailed coaching, and helping players get 1% better each
Sam Bowling
Great Lake Strings and Development is led by Sam Bowling, a former collegiate lacrosse goalie and decorated athlete. Sam earned multiple honors during his career, including All-Conference, All-American, and Collegiate Athlete of the Year awards. He also brings high-level playing experience from Canadian Jr. A and Jr. B lacrosse.
Sam’s mission is to elevate each athlete’s individual skill set and lacrosse IQ through focused, intentional development.
Training sessions include:
Position-specific, detail-oriented offensive, defensive, and goalie skill training
High intensity group and one-on-one instruction using college-level drills and progressions
In addition to player development, Great Lake Strings and Development offers premium stick stringing services for both men’s and women’s sticks. With over 10 years of stringing experience, Sam provides professional-quality custom stringing, currently offered in partnership with Michigan Lacrosse Co.
